BEWARE OF THE LEOG SCAM

If you search for "leo" on Hive-engine you will see a new token called: LEOG/LEO Gold that has nothing to do with LeoFinance or it's official Leo token.

You can see that they are using the LeoFinance logo (a golden one) and even though I think that most people would understand that this is a pure scam attempt, I know how easy it is to make mistakes..

If you look at the token information you will see this:

DO NOT BUY THIS TOKEN!

This is the first scam attempt I see that is trying to take advantage from the amazing hype and all the 'buzz' around LEO and LeoFinance. It's sad to see people doing this, but it's somehow rather fun as well, because they wouldn't have done this if LeoFinance wasn't an awesome place with huge potential.

That being said, be careful and take your time when you are buying tokens. It's easy to make mistakes and we don't want to give away a single penny to scamming shitheads.

This Alert must be seen. Hence - my full support. I call others to do the same.

"Where there is light, there is shadow" Such decisive acts can be seen in any platform. We should be watchful and warn people against these scammers.

What a load of slimery! Appears to be someone loosely affiliated with WEKU, which was home to a lot of scammers and unsavory characters who'd been heavily downvoted on Steem, back when it mattered. Evidently this person set themselves up as a market maker between the more or less worthless WEKU token and Pakistani Rupees at usary rates. Also seems to control the "easypaisa" account.

Seems there's always someone trying to scam a free ride. Very sad.

Reblogged.

Just seeing this, thank you for the heads up! I saw that some people received and airdrop, I just check and I didn't get one, I wanted to send it to null.

The mother of scammers seems to always be pregnant. Thumbs up for your sharp eye and speed to inform us.

First time seeing a scam token on HIVE! I guess there could be more on the list because it's really long!

Thanks for the warning. Most people probably wouldn't fall for it but better safe than sorry. Somebody should contact @aggroed about this.

Everybody is free to create their own tokens. Aggy cannot help as such. But Hive watchers (@hivewatchers) can be called as they are trying to impersonate Leo team.

What do I know? When a project is amazing people try to hack it or get rich off it without having to do any work. This is absolutely putrid, thanks for warning

Thanks for the eye opener dear friend

All linked to Easypaisa, the scammy Pakistani Crypto gateway whos users make up a huge percentage of any Hive blacklist you might care to mention. Nice to see their intro post has been flagged to mute.
Thanks for bringing this up, and very happy to see the power of the community at work to overcome this crap rather than the use of 'rules and regulations' as some of the commenters here are calling for!
Let's not forget we are a decentralised, censorship-resistant community! We work voluntarily as one.

I also read here about a post of the owner https://peakd.com/leo/@cryptopaisa/leo-gold-officially-released-cryptopaisa

I see some of these tokens have been sent to new users like @tin.aung.soe, please don't buy this LEO Gold, it's a scam
